Cleveland VP509 Mallet Putter Review
Better Basics Build Confidence and Success!
How’s your alignment on the greens? If you find you are consistently misaligning putts, then Cleveland would like you to take notice of their VP series of putters. VP stands for “visual performance,” and refers in part, to their stunningly simple dual-axis system that places two perpendicular lines on the top of the club, one to center your eyes over, and the other to produce the right address to the ball. The last part of “VP” is an insert in the back of the club face that only becomes visible if your lie angle is too upright or too flat. Some time on the practice green to familiarize yourself with the system will pay rich dividends when you are keeping score. It also won’t hurt your VP that the finish is matte black, to reduce glare and distraction.
Who should use the Cleveland VP509 Mallet Putter?
The Cleveland VP 509 takes a few rounds to really get the hang of. But when you do, your work on the greens will become more visually appealing to you and everybody else! The VP line should be considered by anyone who needs to work on putting fundamentals, whether a novice or a seasoned player.
